How to remove Windows XP logon and Welcome Screen and logon automatically when started
Computers with only one user may prefer to logon Windows automatically without displaying the Welcome Screen or classic login dialog box.
To have Windows XP login automatically please follow the procedure.
1. Click on Start, then Run
2. Type in the following at box and hit OK
control userpasswords2
3. Select the default user you want to log into when Windows started, then unmark the box for
“Users must enter a username and password to use this computer”
4. Click on Apply and you’ll be asked to verify the username and password to log in automatically
5. Click OK
