When you are trying to change desktop wallpaper or having difficulties modifying desktop and it gives you an error message such as:
“Internet Explorer cannot find the Active Desktop HTML file. This file is needed for your Active Desktop. Click OK to turn off Active Desktop. ”
This was cause by an error when your system is trying to write to Desktop.htt file by using Internet Explorer. This occurs if the Windows\Web folder has been moved, deleted or renamed. Users may also experienced this if the Windows\Application data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer folder is missing or damaged.
There are two ways to fix this this issue, one is to create a “C:\Windows\Web” folder, and another one is to uninstall your Internet Explorer (and reinstall) to replaced any damaged files on your computer.
