Quicktime Popup “Software is Out of Date”

Outdated Quicktime software that was installed on computers may received the following alerts ” Some of your QuickTime software is out of date. You can fix this problem by updating to the latest version.”

Even reinstalling the software may not help to fix this. To resolve this issue please do the following method:
1.  Go to Control Panel, Add Remove Programs and uninstall Quicktime
2. Check if the install directoryand was removed, if not delete it C:\Windows\System32\QuickTime
3. Backup and delete the following files on C:\Windows\System32\directory
- QTIM32.DLL
- QTOLE32.DLL
- QTMWCI32.DLL
- QuickTimeMusicalInstruments.qtx
4. Restart your computer and download and reinstall a new version of Quicktime from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
