Most Windows Vista users experience a full working connection on a Local Area Network when using a wired transmission but failed to connect with a Wireless connection. It displays a message on taskbar as “Local Access Only.

With issues like this, users commonly resolve this Windows Vista wireless connection by changing the IPv6 and using the IPv4. To do this please go to Wireless Connection properties.

Assigning a static numbers such as DNS, Gateway and IP can also help. This can be done by editing the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) on Wireless Network Connection Properties.

IP Address: 192.168.1.100 (can be anything as long as it will not conflict with Gateway or Routers IP)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (the default IP address of the Router)
DNS: 192.168.1.1 (the default IP address of the Router)
