Print Screen Shot of Open Window in Mac OS X Snow Leopard
About: Did you know that you can print screen only the open program on Mac OS X Snow Leopard without using additional program. Here’s how do to it.
On other operating system like Windows, ”Print Screen” command will capture the whole screen regradless what it displays or application is opened. What if you just wanted to take screen shot only of the open window, is it possible without using extra applicatios?
In Mac OS X Snow Leopard, these functions can be done by just a combination of keys.
Hold down Command and Shift at the same time then press 4 and press Spacebar. You will notice that the crosshair will turn into camera icon. This is an indication that it is ready to capture screen shot of any window or open application.

Thus doesn’t work with Snow Leopard but did with Leopard.
It did work with Snow Leopard on my MacBook Air.
I does work with my Snow Leopard.
It does work on snow leopard!!! First I thought it didn’t. Check your desktop!!! Screen Shots are there!
Not that Im a Win supporter, but in Windows all you have to do is alt-printscreen and only the current active window is captured. Without the alt key its the whole screen. This is easier on windows than if you did it on a mac.
So the real question is “HOW CAN I RECONFIGURE THE MAC KEY SHORTCUTS FOR PRINTSCREEN?” because it shouldnt be harder on the mac!
ctrl + shift + 4 + space … seams working … in 10.6.7 (Courser changes)… but where are these snap shots are saved ….
I don’t find them in desktop tried …
1. command ” defaults write com.apple.screencapture location /Full/Path/To/Folder ” to change path not working ….
2. Utility ” Grab ” not working …. blank screen captured …..
