Access Facebook Chat with Google Chrome

About: There are times that you want to keep up with Facebook friend but have no access to Facebook.com. On this writing, we can teach you to open Facebook chat window using Internet browser such as Google Chrome.

Google Chrome, an Internet browser from Google can also perform as chat program for Facebook. Being able to see a list of online friends without the need to open Facebook.com homepage is a plus for those who require chat function only.

Browse the Internet while chatting with Facebook friends is now more convenient with these steps.

1. Open Google Chrome Internet browser. I presume this software is already loaded on your computer.  If not, you can get Google Chrome and start browsing with lighting speed.

2. On the address bar type this address:

http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php

You will now see online friends and ready to chat. This may not work if status is set to “unavailable” from your main Facebook account.

3. Go to Menu, select Tools and Create Application shortcuts…

4. This will give you options on where to save the shortcut. Created shortcut icon gives you an instant execution of Facebook chat from your desktop, start menu and taskbar. You may choose to have the shortcut on all or only selected places.

 Other browsers like Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera are similarly adaptable to adding a Facebook chat on sidebar.
