Change Boot Device Sequence on IBM Netvista
About: On some IBM Netvista machine, a boot error will be encountered when devices are unplugged. The boot sequence seems to set to default and boot on network which when not found will give an error.
Changing boot sequence on IBM Netvista is not so obvious, the Menu to do it is almost on the second level. To perform this task please follow these steps:
1. From cold boot… Turn on the computer
2. Press and hold down the F1 key until beeps
3. When an IBM logo is displayed or if you hear repeating beeps, release the F1 key. You will now enter the IBM BIOS Setup Utility
4. Select “Start Options” from the first menu.
5. From the Start Options menu, press Enter
6. Select “Startup Sequence,” the first one, that you will never think as a menu, I though it was a Title of the page, well it is a second level menu. This brings up a new “Startup Sequence” menu.
7. Change boot order as needed using up/down arrow keys.
8. Save and exit the BIOS setup.
